As the pilot drill sinks vertically or at a downward angle of up to 45 degrees, subsequent drilling rods are installed progressively, reaching the target in existing tunnels or caverns. The transition to the reamer marks the enlargement phase, where the rotation of the rods is transferred to the Cutterhead, efficiently excavating the rock. This process guarantees a seamless and efficient shaft expansion from the bottom up.
